Church Deacons
I was the son of a local small farmer. Educated locally I left school when I was at 14. I worked at home and on other farms until aged 26, when I joined the Bedfordshire Police. The job took me to live in various parts of the County and I was largely engaged in criminal investigation work. I retired after 30 years in the rank of Detective Sergeant. I was then engaged in Bailiff work with the High Court and various security work until I finally retired in 1988.
I was converted to Christ at the age of 15 and I have been engaged in Church activities in various churches. I am married to Peta and have two daughters and two Grandsons. I am currently the Church secretary and one of the Deacons. I have been greatly blessed of the Lord all my life. After living in various places I now live back in the village where I was born.
I was born in the village many years ago. I was converted & baptised at 14 years old and have been a church member ever since. I am married to Susan and we have two sons.
I have been employed in civil law since leaving school and I am currently working at the High Court in London & Yorkshire. I have been a Deacon at the Church on and off for a total of around 20 years.
I am looking to the Lord for a deeper Christian walk for the fellowship and guidance upon impacting the village of Wootton for Christ.
I moved to Wootton with my wife Maria in August 2006 and began attending the Baptist Church. We were baptized on 24th June 2007 and became members. I was brought up in a church-going family but had no understanding that ‘Jesus is LORD’.
Seeing Romans Ch10 v9 painted on a bridge over the M1 was part of my awakening to my need. Personal disaster brought to mind Psalm Ch51. “Turn thy face from my sins and put out all my misdeeds, make me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me”.
Our loving God finally hunted me down one evening in November 2002 at the Church of Christ The Cornerstone in Milton Keynes. Miracles do happen.
